Hoarseness after Angioplasty

Sir ji,

My father’s age is 76. Last month he underwent angioplasty and after angioplasty he is facing problem of hoarseness of voice. There were no complications during angioplasty. So is this hoarseness common after angioplasty or should we consult our cardiologist? Thanks.

Dear Mr KA

Angioplasty of heart's blood vessel (coronary angioplasty), in my experience, is unlikely to lead to hoarseness of voice, as the body parts whose damage can cause hoarseness usually do not come in the way of coronary angioplasty procedure. So please meet an ENT surgeon for assessment and management of the hoarseness problem. Also have a follow up with your cardiologist.

Thanks. Hope this helps.
